Community Support

There is something very special about living in any small community and that is certainly very true of Chinchilla.  When support is required, be it due to floods, crazy hail storms, or personal adversities, everyone rallies together to do whatever needs to be done to help. Another great example is the upcoming Walk to D-Feet MND which is being planned for Saturday 16th January.

Inspired to assist our Kath run her race on her own journey with MND, the intention for this event is to increase the awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland Inc. – who provide a variety of support to Queenslanders living with MND – as well as raise funds for Kath personally.

Starting at The Club Hotel – on the corner of Heeney and Railway Streets – teams will walk 5 laps of the block and gain an extra symptom of MND at each pit stop.

Awards for:
– Best Dressed Team
– Biggest Team
– Top Fundraising Team
– Top Fundraising Individual

The event will continue at the Club Hotel with food, drinks, entertainment, raffles and auctions.

See our events page for other upcoming events.

“A fabulous community”

It never ceases to amaze us how this wonderful community always pulls together to help each other out, especially in challenging times.  Since December 2010, Chinchilla has experienced three floods and two freak hail storms, all resulting in massive amounts of damage, disruptions, and emotional and financial stress.  However, we keep bouncing back.  What a fabulous community we live in!!
