The CCCI Christmas Street Party will have rides, food and entertainment for the whole family. Plus there will be late night shopping for some of your last minute Christmas gifts with some fantastic specials available throughout the night.
The Town Proud Buy Local winner will be drawn at this year’s event so if you have shopped locally you are in the draw to win a new car. Make sure you get your entries in at participating businesses.
The 2015 CCCI Christmas Street Party would like to invite Community Organisations to submit an application to hold an information stall at the event. Please register your details here and you will be contacted shortly.
Walk to D-Feet MND

Inspired to assist our Kath run her race on her own journey with MND, the intention for this event is to increase the awareness of Motor Neurone Disease and raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland Inc. – who provide a variety of support to Queenslanders living with MND – as well as raise funds for Kath personally.
Starting at The Club Hotel – on the corner of Heeney and Railway Streets – teams will walk 5 laps of the block and gain an extra symptom of MND at each pit stop.

We will continue on at the Club Hotel with food, drinks, entertainment, raffles and auctions.
One Long Table

The One Long Table event in the heart of Chinchilla is a family friendly celebration of multiculturalism through food, dance and music.
March 19 will see Heeney Street transformed into an outdoor dining space and offer guests an opportunity to savour regional cuisine while enjoying live entertainment.
Prices start from $5 per plate.

Chinchilla Grandfather Clock Campdraft

The Chinchilla Grandfather Clock Campdraft is one of the most prestigious campdrafts in Australia and is one of the ‘big three’ that make up the Triple Crown series of campdrafts in October. The Grandfather Clock trophy was first donated almost 50 years ago, and campdrafting in Chinchilla has a rich history which spans over 115 years. Chinchilla Campdraft also holds an annual Encouragement Campdraft in the month of February each year.
Chinchilla Melon Festival

The most famous of our events is a celebration of all things melon and a tribute to our town’s melon farming. The Chinchilla Melon Festival has become a renowned event, attracting folks from around the globe. Held in February every second year, the festival encompasses a week of fun activities culminating with the Family Fun Day including a colourful street parade and a wonderful array of market stalls. If you’ve never skied on watermelons or attempted a melon bungee, then the Chinchilla Melon Festival definitely needs to be put at the top of your to-do list.
Opera at Jimbour

Hosted by the Queensland Music Festival in conjunction with Western Downs Regional Council and Jimbour Station, Opera at Jimbour has become one of regional Queensland’s most popular free events. Every second year, up to 8000 music lovers converge on the magnificent grounds of heritage-listed Jimbour House to experience the divine sounds of operatic voices and orchestral musicians from the comfort of their chair or picnic blanket on the grass. Wander through the colourful array of market stalls, exhibiting local arts and produce for sale, as you soak up the warm winter sunshine before dusk when the captivating performances begin.
Held 4-5 times each year, the Chinchilla Races is always a great opportunity to dress up and socialise with family, friends and friends you haven’t yet met.
